My stay at osh kosh was brief but as usual was great to reconnect with old friends and rally around the Thorp. Weather was great as was the flying. Formation flyout for breakfast has become one of my favorite parts of osh kosh. The Wednesday forum was well done Lee. It is inspiring to see all that you and Cubes are doing to support the Thorp community. Thanks to Cubes for recreating a supply line for quality parts and plans, we all appreciate it.

Ditto on appreciating Cubes. Left & got home to Denver yesterday... 19th time in the Thorp. It was a good year, with almost perfect weather. It was also really great, as usual, renewing old friendships, meeting new people, and just enjoying the experience.

Some OSH Pics for you ... highlights are the Lockheed Little Dipper (John Thorp design), Lancaster with P-51 escorts and Thorp Flight of 3 getting the overhead on 27.

Great to meet some of you.

Bob and Bill. I got to see your formation departure from OSH. Looked nice from where I was standing!

Glad to hear you all made it home safely!

Cubes, Nice to meet and talk with you and you are a savior to me. There really is no way I would contemplate building a Thorp if it was not supported and had partial kits. You hit the nail on the head with me when you said the nich market is for those guys who want a fast aerobatic sport plane but cannot afford an RV. That fits me to a Tee! Thanks cubes!

BTW: I bought (ordered) several sheet metal tools. Wife let me buy a tungston bucking bar for my upcoming birthday. So I'm not further committed to rebuilding Bob's damaged wings and continueing on with the rest of an S-18 Thorp project.

I still have a few more needed things (tools) to really get a good grip of a basis to starting the project. I mainly want a rivet squeezer with a 3" yoke and of course a set of S-18 plans and some deburring tools and.... I just ran out of cash at EAA (pretty easy to do, especially when one doesn't have a lot of cash to begin with!!!!)

Bruce and Diane parked our magic carpet in the nest Thursday noon after a couple of side trips to visit family and a one day delay in Iowa for thunder boomers. Departed OSH late Mon morning after a brief airshow by the B52 departing.

Thorp row looks a bit empty, B52 getting ready to depart 36

We departed late enough that the pink shirts on the ground had left and had to talk to the tower.
We had a wonderful time at Oshkosh this year and had a great time at dinner at the Roxy, a fun time was had by all.

Here's a view of the Thorp row at OSH with 7 of the 9 total T-18s that I saw.

Image
Left to right, back to front: Bill Williams, Bob Highley, John Evens, a Mustang II, Lee Walton, David Reed, Curtis Simonye and mine. Gary Green was parked in a different row and Scott Stine had been present earlier in the week and had left.

Bruce .. I just noticed your question about the images ... sorry for the delay. I "cheat" , they're uploaded to a directory on the server and I just put a link to the file on the posting.
