The Smiths and the Hayses will be there. We have a condo rented a couple of miles to the west.

One week to go!

Here's the plan ...

Thursday -
I plan to arrive around noon. I've rented a van from the FBO and plan to go pick up some snacks, burger fixin's, beer, water etc for us to have out at the airport for those of us that plan to spend the majority of the time flying (sans beer of course). That of course doe not rule out taking a break to go eat but I thought it would be nice to have the option to hang out there as it's a pretty cool place. http://www.jacksaces.com/jacks_aces_detail_page.htm

Dinner most likely LuLu's http://lulubuffett.com/ .. that does not mean "buffet" .. it's a place owned by Jimmy Buffett's sister

Friday -
We'll do the usual flying thing (those who want to beach it will head that way) wait for the late comers to arrive (perhaps grill out at the field while we wait). We could plan a jump over to Bay Minette to raid their spread for a snack as well.

Dinner TBA - we have a few options .. I'll let the execs decide.

Saturday -
Flying in the early morning then a group fly out to the Naval Air Museum (again those who want to beach it will head that way) . We'll land at 82J http://www.fergusonairport.com/ where I've arranged transport over to and back from the museum. I'm assuming this will take a chunk of the afternoon 82J is a pretty cool place as well so we may plan a fly by for them.

Dinner - I've made reservations at http://www.shippsrestaurant.com/ for the group ... nice place in the harbor.

Sunday - a little flying then head our separate ways ---

I've got Thursday free and can get over there (single engine Toyota) The Grumman is down for it's annual. It would be worth the 2 hour drive.

A heads up guys ... Schedule change. I plan to be there around 3:00 tomorrow. Had hoped to get started from ft worth earlier but now find myself driving up in the morning.

Looking forward to it!

I have reservations at the Staybridge for an arrival today (Thursday). I haven't left home yet and may not. It is pretty dark out and a massive storm coming in from the west. I think I'll call the motel and cancel tonight's room and take a look at it tomorrow.

Be careful with that one, Gary. It caused me a bit of heartache today. Tops were 55k when I passed it the first time. It was still building!

Spring Gathering went great. Sixteen folks for dinner last night. Some great beach flying and some super interaction with the folks who hang out at "Jack's Aces." This included Army helo pilots, Navy students and instructors and an occasional banner tower. Hope all got home safely. SH and WW back in the hangar.

David and Karen made it back home by mid afternoon. The flight home was easy. The one down not so much. But a great time while we were there. We flew down the beach and landed at Dauphin Island 4R9 before we started home. Hint: don't come in too fast.

Well, all is complete. Deb ,Suz, Bob and I completed our trip to Gulf Shores with our traditional chicken wings and a pitcher of beer at Beef O" Brady's. We enjoyed our trip to the beach with a relaxing weekend. Lee did good
