I have a bud here in San Diego that has a Garmin GTX330 that he would like to sell . He just upgraded his Bonanza to a Garmin GTX330-ES . The GTX 330 will need to be upgraded to make it 2020 ADS-B/OUT . He is asking $500.00 . I know nothing about Garmin equipment other than it is an avionics box . ??? If you are interested email me and I'll pass on Mr. X's email address and you can ask him all the tech questions you want about the unit . :P

It would be a good deal for anyone with a compatible GPS. New the GTX330ES is ~$4000 on the Garmin site. The upgrade is ~$1500 to buy plus any shipping and handling charges the dealer may want. I wonder if the FAA would give the rebate for going that route.

I think the GTX330ES is ADS B " out" only, if you want "in" you would need a Stratus or Dual 170?
I like the ability to have both in/out in one unit as not to complicate my simple mind. Traffic is not that important as is Nexrad weather

I get ADS-B "in" on my Garmin portable. I have played with the "in" features to see what they do during the last couple of years but haven't found it very useful for flying VFR. Radar is usually several minutes behind actual conditions. I flirt with marginal conditions enough at work that I don't feel the need to do it for play. I saw this start to develop so I headed to the nearest airport. It didn't show on Nexrad until after it had passed.
