Go to page 5 and there is a brief discussion on drop tanks . I know there is more info on this subject that has been posted in the past , but a Dingo ate my mouse and I can't find it ? I vote for the larger main tank .

Don, Your friend is still 100% able to make a set of tanks .. the mounting is clearly outlined in the post listed above. As far as ... specs .. there really never were any. Tom Hunter modeled them after an F-86 drop tank .. he admittedly did it because he thought it would look cool .. not ... |

My main concern would be after TO, Engine failure and have to put the AC down in the weeds with full fuel in those "drop tanks ." If the gear folds you might have a problem with a ruptured external tank . BOOM !

Ill put in a few cents here. I agree, the least of the options is the drop tank idea. That being said, were not taking about an F4 or an F18 where ... carrying 2/3 the capacity of the main on the wings. Each of those drop tanks carry 5.5 gallons (ok close to 6) I used to run each down and feel ... |
