Hello,
I'm very new to the homebuilt game and I'd appreciate any assistance I can get.
I'm interested in a T-18 project that is available where most of the airframe is finished. Aircraft comes with the Sunderland folding wing. Engine, avionics and instrumentation missing.
When assessing a project, what should be looking out for? Where are the "classical" problems/weaknesses? What factors decide if I would do well to keep away from this project?
I take it that I should go armed with the full list of the latest ADs as a starting point.
Any help appreciated.

Nik

I've read the very informative "notes to new buyers" on the home page. Excellent.

Not sure what the rules are for down under. In the US, ADs only apply to certificated items of which the airframe is not. If you haven't worked on aircraft yourself, I would suggest finding a respected mechanic unfamiliar with the owner and have him take a look and advise you.
