Does anyone have an Emergency Beacon Corporation Model EBC 102A ELT that they would like to sell? It doesnt matter if the battery is dead (or out of the unit). I'm just looking for a used unit. I believe I can pick up a new battery for a reasonable price. I found corrosion everywhere in my ELT unit and now its kaput.

Have you looked at the ACK/Ameri-King units ? They use D cell batts. I have the Ameri-King unit. I would expect that all of us (sooner than later) will have to go with a unit has 406Mhz freq., but if you need a unit now, these two for less than $150.00 (new) may be a better option than the EBC.

I was hoping to locate a replacement EBC unit so I could drop in the new one and be on my way. If I cant find a used replacement I'll probably bite the bullet and buy a new 102A. I would rather buy a new 102A than drill any new holes in the airplane for a new ELT installation. Although that ACK price is really hard to pass on...

Rich was quoting the price of the Ameri-King unit.

I agree with Rich I'd rather spend $150 on a new Ameri-King unit than $150 on a beat up EBC.

If you can hold off until Oshkosh, there's a good chance there'll be a pile of ELT's in the parts swap, those of us that are going can take a look for you.

Or better yet call Air Salvage of Dallas , they have a bin full of them too.

If I remember right my Ameri-King only required 2 small holes to attach the supplied mounting bracket under the right seat.
